This is a new emergency brake support rod, right for Volkswagen Karmann Ghia 14 models.
Originally only one rod is used between the brake shoes for both left and right
When assembled the spring lies in the recess on one side
on the other side it lies above it. The first time this does not seem to be correct when assembled and many of us searched to find the "correct" "other" side... but after a while and a lot of seeing you get used to it. Because the questions and comments from customers kept coming
we decided to make the "correct" "other" side
which makes the whole look much nicer and logical.
