Beetle Karmann Ghia 10/57- Type 3 Originally only one rod is used between the brake shoes for both left and right VW 311 609 631 BBT 1239-96 When assembled the spring lies in the recess on one side on the other side it lies above it. The first time this does not seem to be correct when assembled and many of us searched to find the correct other side... but after a while and a lot of seeing you get used to it. Because the questions and comments from customers kept coming we decided to make the correct other side which makes the whole look much nicer and logical. OEM: 311 609 632
